Last-Minute Compliance Issues for Reporting Health Care Benefits on Form W-2

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires employers to report the value of employer-provided health care on employees' Forms W-2. The forms are to reflect the full value of all health care provided through the employer, including both employer- and employee-paid amounts. 2012 Forms W-2, due by January 31, 2013, are the first reports on which most employers are providing this information, as the IRS made reporting the value of health care optional for 2011.

This OnDemand Webinar will review the background of the ACA requirement. This program will cover which employers are subject to the requirement and who must receive benefits information, the types of benefits that must be reported, and how these benefits must be valued for purposes of reporting. Significant transition provisions and exclusions will be covered, as will end-of-year developments and challenges. Other upcoming ACA requirements for 2013 will be briefly highlighted as well.
